INTERNSHIPS
Sex Therapy Intern for AASECT certification:
To achieve the 50 intern supervision hours required for AASECT certification as a Sex Therapist,
I offer both individual and group supervision. This supervision may be conducted over the
telephone or via Skype. I also offer supervision to sex therapists seeking the 30 hours required
to become a Supervisor. To receive supervision for Supervisor certification, you must be a
psychotherapist or social worker to qualify, or can prove special circumstances, i.e., a degree
from IASHS or Widener U or equivalent. In your work with me, you will need to present a
diversity of cases from your practice which I help you build. These shall include DSM sexual
dysfunctions, persons of alternate orientations, non-monogamous couples, registered persons.

Psychotherapy Intern for BBS licensure in California:
To seek supervision while achieving the 3000 hours required to become a licensed Marriage
and Family Therapist in California, I hold two intern positions as permitted by law for private
practice. My current Marriage and Family Intern is Nina Ruedas (IMF67572) who can be reached at 760.773.3463 or nina@desertsexcenter.com. She is available in both Beverly Hills and Rancho Mirage offices.
You may contact me to be considered for placement on a waiting list, or to be referred to other sexological clinicians in your area. No offense intended, but I will only be considering intern candidates who qualify as
sexologists by either their degrees, certifications, or a convincing story. You will need to have
an above average interest and education in sexuality. I expect the interns to be engaged in
either sex research, sex education, public policy, or sexual health advocacy. It is not required
for you to have the same theoretical orientations as I.
